The Zetify Vision
Zetify is an independent Christian ministry focused on
planting the gospel in the hearts of young adults.
We use technology and missional communities to help plant the gospel in the hearts of young adults all over the country. Through our Web & Mobile Apps we make Christianity more accessible and visible by organizing the vast amounts of Christian information online. Complementing our Apps is Zetify Parties, a missional community concept meant to foster real world gospel centered communities for young adults.
The Need for Zetify
Christianity in America is on the precipice of a monumental transformation. The number of people who consider themselves a Christian but participate in the church has reached an all time low, according to Pew Research and other sources. Of the 77% of Americans who consider themselves Christians only 40% attend church each week. Additionally just 33% of all young adults in America attend church on Sunday.
At Zetify we think the attendance trend is a result of Americans wanting easier ways to integrate Christianity into their daily lives. People want more from the church than just a Sunday sermon. We feel we can help Americans bring Jesus into daily lives by creating strong online and local gospel centered communities. We want every young adult to know Jesus and commit their life to loving & serving Him.
Zetify = seek + edify
The name Zetify comes from the Greek word zeteo meaning to seek and the English word edify. This sums up our desire to seek God and other believers while edifying God in building up each other in Jesus' image. Check out some good scripture:
Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.
1 Corinthians 10:24 Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.
Romans 14:17-19 17For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. 19So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.
What We Believe
We are not affiliated with a denomination or church. We believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and only through Him are we redeemed to eternal life. We do not aim to teach theology aside from salvation through Jesus. The Bible sums up our beliefs the best:
1 Peter 1:3-9 3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 8Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 9obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
1 John 4:8-21 8Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
13By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. 14And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. 18There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 19We love because he first loved us. 20If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
Acts 2:42-47 42And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
Zetify's History
Zetify was born when Jeff Collier moved from New York City to San Francisco in 2007. Soon after Jeff arrived he tried to find a nearby church on the Internet only to have extreme difficulty locating a suitable church. After hours of searching, he took a gamble on a church in a nearby town.
Thankfully, the church worked out and became his home in the Bay Area. Unfortunately the church did not have a young adult community. After discussing it with the pastor, Jeff helped form the church's first young adult group. But his search for fellowship did not end there; he wanted to find other Christians his age. However finding young adults outside the church proved more difficult than finding a church to attend. There wasn't an easy way to find places to connect with other Christians in the area.
That's when the lightening bold of inspiration went off inside of Jeff's head. There must be a better way to make Christianity easier to find. From that moment on the Zetify vision was born. Jeff combined inspiration with a decade's worth of development experience as a team member for major Web sites, like ESPN and Yahoo! begin building Zetify into an emerging leader in Christian technology and young adult community building.
Making Christianity More Accessible with Parties, Apps & Love
We simplify Christianity with Zetify Apps and build strong communities with Zetify Parties. Our love for Jesus is the underlying engine driving the Zetify ministry forward.
Zetify Apps simplifies Christianity by taking vast amounts of information and organizing it for easy consumption. The Apps we produce are designed to be easy to use and give people the tools they need to grow and explore their faith. In addition to its core Apps, Zetify provides technology integration and consulting services for churches and ministries, on a limited basis.
Fellowship Finding Christian Apps
Community Building Christian Apps
Zetify Parties is designed to help cities and churches build their young adult communities into thriving and active Church participants. We understand what young adults are going through and help bridge the gap to make church and Jesus a more consistent part of their lives. Zetify Parties is in beta launch in Austin, TX in partnership with Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
Zetify Love
Guiding Zetify's efforts is the love we have for Jesus and our fellow brothers and sisters. Above all else, we want people to know God's love and make Jesus the most important part of their lives. Join us as we celebrate the hope Jesus gave to all humanity under God's loving grace.
Growing in the Zetify Community
The Zetify community is for people at any stage in their walk with God, from people still figuring out what they believe to those who grew up in the church their whole life. Our community is a mix of online and real world relationships. We want people to have strong face-to-face fellowship while being able to share and grow with believers around the country.
At Zetify we have three guiding principles for our community:
- We want people to connect with each other and know they are not alone.
- We want people to feel anything is possible and open to sharing their story with all of us by living a transparent lifestyle.
- We want people to grow their faith. It doesn't matter where you come from, or what happened in your past. Join us, share with us, love with us and be free with us.
